Young fruit trees require specific pruning techniques to ensure they grow a solid branch framework. Pruning trees when they’re young also helps them to grow. We will help you understand the theory and practice of pruning young fruit trees.

What to bring

If you have them, please bring along a sharp pair of secateurs, loppers, a pruning saw and a pair of rubber grip gardening gloves. Tools and gloves will be provided if you don’t have your own.

Remember to wear clothes and footwear appropriate for the weather, mud, and uneven ground!

We’ll provide

Tea and coffee.

Participants will each receive a copy of Chloe Ward's excellent pruning guide "for real people with imperfect trees".

Tools for anyone who doesn’t have their own.

Tiered payment structure:

Bursary ticket - Donation (pay what you can afford)

Reduced price ticket - £15

Standard price ticket - £25
