Orchard Harvest Share

September-November 2026

£80

We grow 100 different types of apple at an old orchard near Garforth and we are offering you a seasonal share of the harvest this autumn.

For £80, you get 3 months of delicious, fresh, locally grown, heritage varieties grown without chemicals. By signing up you are helping to restore and manage an old orchard with a unique collection of Yorkshire fruit.

Every 3 weeks during the harvest season, you’ll get a 5.5kg crate of two or three different varieties. That’s 5 deliveries of about 30 delicious apples, with a note on their name and heritage story. Some pears will also be included in the shares.

On Thursdays 3 Sept, 24 Sept, 15 Oct, 5 Nov, & 26 Nov 2026, your fruit will be ready to collect from these local collection points:

  • Shipley*

  • Chapel Allerton*

* Pickup location will be shared with you after sign-up

Sign up before 1st September 2026 using the form below. We will then contact you to collect payment via invoice.

FAQs

  • Not certified organic, but the trees haven’t had chemicals used on them for decades.

  • No. One of the challenges of growing food is we never know how productive the different trees will be. So we can’t predict exactly which of the 100 different trees will do well. But they will definitely be tasty and very different to anything you’d find in a supermarket.

  • The great thing about apples is that many of them keep for quite some time. You don’t need to eat 5.5kg all at once! You can store the fruit and work through it gradually (even observing and enjoying how the flavour changes over time).

Some other fun things to do with apples are to make juice, cut and dry them, or cook them.

If a full share is too much for you, sharing with a neighbour or a friend would be a great idea.

  • £3 per kilo is cheaper than organic apples in the supermarkets and only slightly more than non-organic ones. It takes time to pick fruit by hand in the old, tall trees. Our pickers get paid the Real Living Wage.

  • We want to offer you a competitive price because the harvest share scheme works better for us than other ways of selling fruit. It’s easier for us to plan knowing how much fruit we need to pick and only dropping it off at a few collection points.

  • It’s up to you to arrange for somebody to collect your fruit on or shortly after collection day. The fruit will be fine for a few days, but if your share hasn’t been collected after a week we will give the good quality fruit to a food bank.

  • We are open to arranging collection points in new places. Could you organise 5 or more shares to be collected from your house or a local community space? Please get in touch to let us know.

  • Yes. On the sign up form, you can opt to pay £80 in full or in two separate installments of £40.

  • Yes, we sell apple trees, so you can grow your own harvest for the future! See our shop to browse trees.

We sometimes sell apple juice, vinegar and cider at events.
